On Saturday 25th of June we held our biannual Black belt grading. There were the usual nerves at the beginning but these soon faded as the grading got under way the students were asked to display their knowledge of the whole grading syllabus with a few extras added in to stress test each student, after 2 sweaty hours the grading was over and the students stepped out of the hall to get some fresh air and cool down while the panel deliberated over the results.

The following grades were awarded

Amelia Newman 1st Degree Black Belt

Lauren Hawes 1st Degree Black Belt

Lee Pople 1st Kyu Brown Belt Black Stripe

Emily Poole 1st Kyu Brown Belt Black Stripe

After the grading we all went into town and had a meal to celebrate at the Full House Chinese buffet.

Sensei would like to congratulate all those who participated in the grading especially Amelia & Lauren for their dedication to their training over the last few years, who would have thought you two girls with a Black Belt I am so proud of you both well done!

I would also like to express my thanks to Sifu Kieth Fanning for travelling over from Ireland for the weekend to sit on the panel and for the training we did together over the weekend it was great to do some breaking and brush up on my chi gung, thanks also to Amanda for taking the photos it is always great to see you both.
